Stevie At The Beach [1964]

A young blind boy, just 13 year aged started his international career with this album (although it was already his 4th album!) ... Despite the title it's NO surf album, but a sort of a concept album around beach releated themes. Recorded 1963 and released 1964. The song from the Muscle Beach Party movie [Happy Street] is included.

Muscle Beach Party - with Annette & Frankie [1964]

Do you really need a description for a movie entitled "Muscle Beach Party" ...
worth to be viewed just for the guest appearances by Dick Dale [always the guy in the yellow polo shirt with the guitar] and "Little" Stevie Wonder close to the end of the film

[ripped by myself from an old vhs-tape on a borrowed player ...
converted & uploaded with true sweat & tears - boy what a ride]

There was also a LP by Annette Funicello released with the title "Muscle Beach Party", but it has less in common with the true movie soundtrack.
You can find the LP here ... [maybe you will leave a small thank you over there!]
but hold on: You will need the sleeves of the LP

Roger Christian, Gary Usher and Brian Wilson (of The Beach Boys) wrote six songs for the film: "Surfer's Holiday" performed by Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello and the cast; "Runnin' Wild" performed by Frankie Avalon; "My First Love" and "Muscle Beach Party", both performed by Dick Dale and His Del-Tones; "Muscle Bustle" performed by Donna Loren with Dick Dale and His Del-Tones; and "Surfin' Woodie" performed a cappella by Dick Dale with the cast.
Guy Hemric and Jerry Styner wrote two songs for the film: "Happy Street" performed by Little Stevie Wonder; and "A Girl Needs a Boy" first performed by Annette Funicello, then reprised by Frankie Avalon as "A Boy Needs a Girl".

(I guess this soundtrack was neither released complete, nor on LP - if someone has different informations - let me know)

... almost forgotten: Los Ultrasonoros - Rumble [1995/1997]

probably the best Argentinian Surf & Garage band ever ... unfortunately they never came to bigger fame like some Argentinian soccer and tennis players. So here they are with a lots of typically surf songs: Baja, Mr Moto, Pipeline, Wipe Out ... A fantastic version of Link Wray's Rumble and some Davie Allan like fuzz-songs ...  [18 songs, tracks 01-12 "Rumble", 13-18 from "outer space"] (Further informations about the band, which existed from around 1993 to 1998 - welcome!)

... almost forgotten: Dragstrip - Reaction Time [1996]

Among other things, California's Shredder Records releases some of the best guitar instrumental bands around. Dragstrip is certainly more proof of that. This band serves up thirteen totally rockin' tunes on this CD, including knockout covers of "Don't Fear the Reaper" and "Jack the Ripper." True, there are a lot of bands out there right now playing this style of music...but those that really seem to be able to pull it off are few and far between. Dragstrip ought to please young and old fans alike, as they sound as fresh and alive as this style of music did when it was first introduced way back when. Still think Man or Astroman? is the hippest guitar band around? Give a listen to Dragstrip..and add them to your collection NOW.  (Product Description/Advertising 1996)
