50.000 daily visitors can't go wrong ...

... and so I checked once again my "this year purchases" and some of the music which is circulating via bits and bites through the internet. And here it is: just another compilation featuring the unknown, forgotten or ignored artists. This year purchases means, that there is also a lot of brand new stuff among - from the genres of surf, hula, easy listening, garage and all other instrumental music so many folks are loving. Newer releases means also that each artist/band is featured with just one song.

Thanks to all bands, labels & record companies for providing a song without there knowledge ... if you like something: check out their homepages and the websites where you can purchase "legal" copies! and don't forget: a download is just a download (!)

Cowabunga ...

»This is the best collection of surf guitar music I have ever heard. I was never into surf guitar music previously, but bought this because it sounded interesting. That was in the summer of 1996. I still listen to it constantly. I became so interested in this genre that I have sought out similar compilations and nothing else comes close. This is a must buy for anyone who enjoys guitar instrumental music or is interested in taking your mind to the beach.«

a customers review, written over at Amazon, where you still can buy [used] copies starting at 133 $ (!)

After months with not to much postings on this blog - I'm really thinking most of the interesting surf stuff is already online, if not here, then over at Trustar Vibrations, The Fat City Cigar Lounge or Ryp's Twilightzone and many other small blogs - I thought this compilation of four cd's is really missing.
The combination of the very well written and fine illustrated booklet with the four cds spreading the years from the beginning until 1995/96 is absolutely unbeatable.
And it is for many, many years out of print. What a shame ...

luckily I own one of this boxes and I wasn't lazy and spent almost a full day to scan the booklet and a gave the cds a fresh XLD rip.

and here it is - the first time with the complete 60+ pages booklet [scaled to A4, with a fresh look]

(set 5 is of course optional - and must by created by yourself!)
-many thanks to an unknown person for this great photoshot-
